刚搞明白web2.0，where2.0就来了。
个人一点粗浅的理解就是，where2.0指的的是将互联网，社会化网络，和地理信息（Location awareness怎么翻译？）有机结合起来的应用。
比如说FourSquare，比如说bing的下一代地图，比如说geo-based 增强现实。
The 2010 O’Reilly Where 2.0 Conference是刚刚结束的一个会议，有很多最新鲜的动态。
据以前的消息，google会在这个会议上披露一些goggles的技术细节，不过我没有找到啊。哪位大侠帮忙找找？
而且据说goggles下一步会加入更多的物体类别，甚至会公开API！！！！

前面cvchina报道过微软新一代bing地图上的街景缝合，现在google也在自家的street view上加入了该技术。
根据这里的报道（可能要翻墙），还有这里的报道，google会用自家的图像匹配技术，将用户的照片匹配到街景上。浏览者可以点击街景上一字排开的缩略图，观看不同用户不同时间，不同角度拍摄的照片。点击街景上的银色的小圆点，还可以近距离观看细节。

现在只有有限的地点有这个功能，多数是旅游景点。可去巴塞罗那Sagrada Familia，巴黎凯旋门围观。
记得building rome in one day项目的背后既有微软，又有google，现在看来两家都推出街景照片缝合，也不奇怪吧。
但是目前还是微软略胜一筹，那个TED talk上展示的实时街景缝合是在是太牛逼了啊。

据说给它1个半小时，就能从500GB的硬盘中扫描7w张图片，然后通过面部分析、肤色分析、器官分析等多种算法找出想要的图片。官方保证它的失误仅保持在1%

Google 赞助华盛顿大学Grail实验室100w美金进行计算机视觉，计算机图形方面的研究。
100w美金对google是小意思吧。那我为什么还要说呢，因为计算机视觉的新闻太少了啊，再不写点这个网站就要被增强现实全面淹没了T_T。
在Grail的research页面上看一下，发现building rome in one day原来就是这个实验室做的啊。
